About IP Stewardship Lab

A protected space to understand and steward the intellectual work you've spent years building.

Recognizing the Feeling

You've built something valuable. A living ecosystem. A unique way of thinking, working, and creating impact. Whether you're just beginning to name it or preparing to scale it, the next step is stewarding it with intention.

You may be navigating these tensions:

THE ARCHITECT'S INTUITION

You know your work creates impact, but you haven’t fully named what makes it work, or why it can lose power when translated into standard approaches.

THE DILUTION DILEMMA

You watch nuanced ideas, systems, or ways of working get flattened into checklists and “best practices” by people who haven’t lived them.

THE FOUNDER BOTTLENECK

Your business still depends on your expertise, your memory, and your time. You need systems that scale without requiring you to carry everything yourself.

THE SOUL IN THE MACHINE

You want to use systems and AI to extend your impact, not strip away the humanity that makes your work effective.

THE FRONTIER WITHOUT FENCES

You’re navigating AI, automation, collaboration, and open sharing without clear boundaries for protecting and evolving what you’ve built.

This work exists to help you slow down and decide what deserves protection, before someone else decides for you.

When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.

How We Hold This Work

Every practitioner who enters the Lab works under these foundational commitments.

100% Ownership Retained

Everything you create in this process belongs to you. Always.

Work Never Reused

Your materials, frameworks, and documents are never shared or repurposed.

AI for Reflection Only

Artificial intelligence is a mirror, not an author. Your voice stays yours.

Consent-Based Process

Nothing moves forward without your explicit direction and approval.

The IP Stewardship Lab Ecosystem

IPSL is intentionally designed to support the life cycle of your work. Through confidential programs, tools, and living systems, we help you understand, protect, and responsibly evolve what you've spent years building. Every experience, tool, and conversation is intentionally designed around a single body of work: yours.

What Makes IPSL Different

Private by design. Your work stays in the Lab.

One practitioner. One body of work.

A guided process, not a course.

An ecosystem built around your intellectual work.

A Note from the Founder

Dr. Jamila Dugan

Dr. Jamila Dugan
Founder, IP Stewardship Lab

IP Stewardship Lab grew from a question I've carried throughout my career:

How do we ensure the knowledge we spend a lifetime developing is not only shared, but stewarded with care?

For more than two decades, I've worked alongside educators, entrepreneurs, and organizational leaders as they built ideas, frameworks, and ways of working that transformed people and communities. Again and again, I saw extraordinary expertise remain unnamed, disconnected, or difficult to carry forward, especially as technology accelerated the pace at which our work moves.

I created the IP Stewardship Lab because I believe our greatest work deserves more than efficiency. It deserves thoughtful stewardship.

Whether we're helping someone clarify their expertise or building AI-powered systems around it, the goal is the same: to honor where the work began while preparing it for where it can go next.

Thank you for trusting us with work that matters.
